Ducks, Data Analysis, and the letter D

9:30  Gathering –                             
Mega Blocks and books

9:50  Literacy Activity –

10:05  Math –

Students have to count dots on dice and place corresponding number of ducks in “pond”.
Give kids handful of M&Ms/Skittles and have them sort by colors and put in a line to see how many of each color we have.
Day 2--More data analysis:
·         Divide up track pieces to kids and let them sort colors and put together in a line to see how many we have of each color.
·         Shapes: Using a box filled with items around the house, have kids sort into shapes;

10:20  Break/Snack –  Crackers and raisins

10:40  Science/Social Studies –
Show kids duck life cycle book and talk about ducks and what helps them swim so well in the water.
Have kids play sink or float.

11:05  Choosing Time
            1. Practice writing letter D, tracing lines, cutting on lines.

            2. Let kids do hand print ducks or rubber duck paint stamping.

            3. Play sink or float

            4. (Day 2) Copy patterns on block drawings with mega blocks

11:25  Clean up, Gather to sing and read until picked up
