9:30 Gathering –
Have kids paint the body of the monster for gathering time, so it can be dry in time to work on
9:40 Circle Time
days of the week. do as I'm doing act like an "at" animal.
-Read Aloud Monster books and do outlined activities
Literacy:

Go out and look for the "cat" while we gather leaves. See if we can find the mat outside and any other at word. Discuss the animals that have "at" in their name.
Go inside and color the leaf while under a white peice of paper. Have children create something that is an "at" word with the leaf (bat, cat, mat, rat etc). Show each other what was created.
10:05 Math – Sorting
Monster magnents on cookie sheet.. Take away when they close eyes, and see if they can figure out how many are missing.. Sort them.
10:20 Break/Snack – Graham crackers
10:40 Science/Social Studies – Read another monster book. Get set up to create our monsters.
pipe cleaners, eyeballs, paper, tape, markers, glue, feathers.. etc. Let them get creative
11:05 Choosing Time Finish monsters, do more leaf colorings, look at books/play with magnents of mosters
11:25 Clean up, do musical chairs for monsters.
