Act this song out with each verse:

Additional verses could be (or make up some of your own to go along with specific seeds you are planting):

9:50 Literacy Activity
Tell the kids that “p” makes the sounds /p/. How many words can they think of that start with p? Write each word down. Pass out white boards and have the kids practice writing p.
10:05 Math – Play a game to compare numbers. Play war using Phase 10 and Rook cards. The highest number takes the cards. Also play with the risk pieces. Roll both dice and have the kids join the numbers together. They then take that many pieces away from the other player.
10:20 Break/Snack – Popcorn. Starts with “p” and comes from a plant. Make it using the hot air popper or on the stove.
10:40 Science/Social Studies – Plants seeds. Show the kids a variety of plants and point out the parts of a plant: roots, stem, flower, leaves, etc. Talk about what plants need in order to grow. Show the stages of plants growth: seed, start, mature plant. Give the kids chalk and let them draw plants with their parts on the sidewalk.
11:05 Choosing Time
1. Use magnifying glasses to examine plants around the yard.
2. Glue popcorn on construction paper and design your own apricot tree.
11:25 Clean up. Gather to read until picked up
