10:40  Science/Social Studies – Life cycle of a pumpkin.  Look inside a pumpkin. I had some pumpkins in my garden this year so we went on a field trip outside.  I tried also to take pictures while they were growing so that we could see what they looked like at different stages.
Pass the pumpkin.  The kids had to pass small pumpkin and if it landed on them, they had to name a characteristic of a pumpkin.

11:05  Choosing Time
  1. Pumpkin Pie Dough 1 cup flour, ½ cup salt, 1 cup water, 2 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp cream of tartar, 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice
Add the dry ingredients first, stirring them over medium heat until combined. Add the remaining ingredients and continue stirring over medium heat until the mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat. Allow to cool for a few minutes. Spend some time kneading the play dough until a consistent color is reached.  Now it’s ready to be played with! (I confess, the kids did the kneading part. They thought they had already started playing!)
