Transition:
Let kids take turns writing zeros.
Grab one or none. Put out little treats like goldfish crackers or cheerios. Tell the kids we are going to play a listening game. When I say, “Grab one!” They can eat one, but if I say, “Grab zero!” they don’t grab any. Playfully “catch” kids who eat one when the number is zero.
10:20 Break/Snack – play outside, no snack since we are eating already

read Your Five Senses by Melvin and Gilda Berger
Have camping food in 4 categories, sweet (marshmallow), salty (chip), bitter (unsweetened chocolate), sour (lemon) (As a reward for tasting sour and bitter give them the sweet-added version)
Let kids vote whether each food is “Good” or “Gross,” Have signs to categorize foods, let kids vote and make a graph.
11:05 Choosing Time
1. art – animal stamps (camping background), letter stamps also out
2. name tracing with paint/soap mixture (also letter G, numbers 0, 1)
3. dramatic play – tent; add camp chairs and fake fire; kids earn their food to cook over fire by writing on field journal
4. only 3 choices on Tuesday (make sure kids are doing names)

Transition:
Practice writing 1’s.
Racing bears 0/1 version. Put kids in partnerships, each with a gameboard. Board has two tracks with 10 squares each. Each kid puts a bear at the beginning of their track. To play, roll cube with 1 and 0 on all of the faces, move forward that many spaces.

Put blindfolds on kids and see if they can guess which food they are smelling.
